Anybody up for a race?

This weekend is officially designated as open. However, there have been several requests to have a race.

The days have been hot and humid. I think they could be considered Dog Days (or Dawg Days as we say in NY).

If any one plans to sail on Sunday, and is interested in a little competition, let’s meet at the regular time and plan a course.

Hope to see everyone on Sunday.

Race to the Horizon

Guten Morgen Mitglieder,

The “Race to the Horizon” will take place on Sunday, but the rules have been modified since last year.

This race allows the captains to choose their direction based on the best conditions for their vessel. The longest distance recorded two hours after the start will be the basis for scoring (snapshot of the GPS required). The trip home will be leisurely, providing time to just enjoy the sail, AND collect trash from the water.

Current rules: dependent upon the bearing chosen, the vessel must round the JI to start, starboard tack to the west, or port tack to the east. Two hours after start, a picture of the GPS is taken to determine distance from the JI.

New rule: each item rescued from the water will increase the boat’s PHRF by a percent of their base PHRF (tentatively 1%).

We hope to see everyone on Sunday.

Cheers,

Rob

Hola Members,

I hope everyone got the messages about our summer schedule changes.

This weekend the previously scheduled Canvas Plus Regatta is being replaced by our annual “Race to the Horizon.” In addition, the “Dog Days Regatta” will be replaced by the “John Garrett Memorial Regatta. On August 5th.” The Race to the Horizon rules will be changing. The rules will follow.

Kimball & CJ’s Pet Resort is graciously funding the purchase of commemorative tee shirts for the event’s captains and crews. We look forward seeing you.

it appears that Ellen may have a virus on her phone or PC sending out soliciting emails. I just received one and almost fell in the trap.

The pointlookoutyc.com message servers is up and running. When you receive an event alert, check to see that the link points back to our server, and be sure it is correctly spelled.
As long as the base domain points to us, you will be transferred to our server safely.
