Ahoy!!!

I feel like this is such a late start but I have to say we are well on our way to make the 2021 PLYC Long Island Toy Lending Center for Children with Disabilities (LITLC) fund raiser set for JULY 17th at the Buoy Bar a great success!!

For those of you who are new to this event, the LITLC is a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping children with disabilities and their families. I attached a “What is LITLC” information sheet about the organization. PLYC has held this annual fundraising event at the Buoy Bar for many years. Members of PLYC who have boats dress them up with their flags and sail up and down Reynolds Channel in front of the Buoy Bar to the delight of the spectators on land. Raffle baskets are set up for display and perusing, enticing attendees to take a chance or two or twenty in hopes of making their “dream basket” theirs at the end of the day when the winning tickets are pulled for each prize.

Attached you will find the letter to give vendor asking for donations to help create our famous, fabulous baskets! For those of you new to this fundraiser we gather donations from restaurants, hair/nail salons, spas, and any other type of item you can think of (new items only) to create wonderful baskets for the day of the event. You are more than welcome to create a basket of your own to donate. Members get together the Wednesday evening before the event pairing items received into amazing “theme” baskets. The basket making evening will be Wednesday, July 14th at the Toy Lending Center in East Marina. All are welcome to help. All donations are due by that evening the latest. No baskets will be made the day of the event.

We have one grand prize raffle that we have tickets printed and sell from now up to and including the day of the event. This year Tom Harsh has once again secured a Dometic CFX3 55IM Cooler valued at $1,100 for our grand prize. Thank you so much, Tom!!!  Commodore Kat has ticket books for selling available at the marina. If she does not reach out to you, please, please reach out to her at Xenos 10@msn.comWe have 2000 tickets that need to be sold!!

In addition to the Dometic cooler the following items will be available for raffling the day of the event:

Hello PLYC.
Please join us out on the water on June 19th at 4:00 pm for our PLYC annual Raft Up by the coast guard station!

Sail Locally, Celebrate Globally” to connect with the whole world sailing in the 21st annual Summer Sailstice!
About Summer Sailstice
Founded in 2001, Summer Sailstice is the global sailing holiday celebrated on the weekend closest to the summer solstice. Founded on the basis that the non-sailing public doesn’t really understand sailing and most public awareness comes from events or tragedies that don’t accurately represent sailing (America’s Cup, Thurston Howell III, etc), Summer Sailstice was created to unite, celebrate and showcase life under sail, and be a lot of fun. Every year Summer Sailstice unites over 20,000 sailors across the oceans to celebrate and showcase life under sail.

Please bring at least 2-3 large fenders and lines to tie up.

Kindly confirm that you will be joining.

It a great event where we all do what we do best drink, eat, watch the sunset and make beautiful memories!

See ya soon!

Luv
Kat
