First Day OF Summer 20201 “Summer Solstice”

Good morning PLYC!

We have a fun filled weekend coming up.  Weather will be in the high 80s. 
Friday, June 17th at 7:30 pm at the Fisherman’s Catch, we will be having our annual TCL membership meeting. Please RSVP to let us know who will be joining so we can accommodate accordingly.  
Fun fact!  Saturday, June 19th marks the 21st anniversary of Summer Sailstice; a global holiday celebrating sailing. Each year thousands of sailors participate by racing, cruising or daysailing across all 50 US states and around the globe, sailing ‘together’ wherever they are in the world.


Finally, we get to celebrate our Annual PLYC Summer Solstice Raft-Up!  Outward bound will be the anchoring boat. It’s a spectacular event where we share from boat to boat full of culinary surprises, cool cocktails, summer smiles and striking sunsets. Who will go up the mast to take a pic?  Our record so far is 11 boats. Details will be sent out by Thursday. 

Show of hands who will be rafting up!!!! 

A huge shout out to Rosso Di Sera who is currently in the lead with a major catch of 30 balloons this past weekend! Great job!!!



Wishing all the Wonderful Dads a very Happy Father’s Day to all this Sunday!

Connie Bocklet

Hello PLYC,
It’s with great sadness that I am sending the news that CJ’s beautiful mother Connie Bocklet passed away surrounded by the love her wonderful family.

Services will be held at Clark’s Funeral Home in Katonah NY, Thursday 6/17/21 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.

Her funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s in Katonah on Friday 6/18/21 at 10 am.

The celebrate her life will be at the Hersey residence at 232 Mead St in Waccabuc at 1pm on Friday.

May Connie Bocklet rest in peace.

It was a great afternoon of sailing-a lot of wind, bouncy seas and the balloon that tried to take me to see Dave Jones. Unfortunately, the Vaquita had to drop out early due to tide and family commitments.

If anyone is having problem accessing features of the website, try using a different browser. I have tested Chrome, Safari and Firefox. They all work and display pdf files correctly. Let me know if you are still having problems.

Race to the Horizon 2021

Ahoy PLYC! 
Exciting times ahead!  Tomorrow is our annual Dog Days of Summer Regatta! Race Commodore Bobby T will be sending out details shortly.  A show off hands who will be joining us for tomorrow’s race!
The Race will start at 13:00 at the 1&2. Go for 2 hours in any direction at each boat captains discretion & then take a screen shot at 15:00 with Lat & Lon. The winner will be calculated based on distance travel with a factor for each boats handicap. 
Also as a friendly reminder the TLC Membership Meeting will be this Friday June 18th, 2021 at 7:30 pm, meeting place and details will be sent out next week.
Due to some tech issues with the previous calendar and email updates, for everyone‘s convenience the PLYC Calendar has been attached to this email.  If you happen to know someone who wants to receive our emails and isn’t.  Please have them get in touch with me directly to be added to the contact list.

Tonight Member meeting cancelled

Hello PLYC,
We seem to be having some tech email issues from the website and via email communications. Emails sent haven’t be received. As well as some calendar issues too.
Also due to the weather, the Monthly member meeting is cancelled. We will be sending out an updated easy to read formatted calendar soon with a rescheduled meeting date.

Good morning Members,

I hope all is well. 

After significant difficulties, the club website has been republished. The ability to post is somewhat limited, and it’s ability to receive large picture files may cause more problems. Please limit the size of attachments when posting to the forum, and DO NOT include the members@pointlookoutyc.com email address in mailing lists. 

In addition, the schedule is now accessible without the need to login. However, the club calendar has been moved to a subpage and is still protected from public access. Authenticated users should be able to add activities to the calendar. 

Some pictures from the Blessing of the Fleet event have been published on the forum. Enjoy.
