TLC Fund Raising Update on a goal of $10,000
Spirit Rider
I have been meaning to do this all week…
I want to give my thanks to Bobby Todaro our Race Commodore for coming up with the idea to continue the tradition with a scaled-down version of the annual regatta , and volunteering to manage the whole race himself. I also want to congratulate him on a first place win! Congratulations! Nice work!
I also want to thank Kat Xenos our Social Events Commodore for her work putting together the beautifully executed pizza/birthday party following the race. In addition, she made her first entry into the regatta with her new boat Dulcinea, and took second place in her division! Congratulations!
Thank you all for your participation, making the event a complete success!
Please be reminded to pass the word about TLC donations, we are getting close to our goal, but only have a few weeks left.
I will post information about the Commodore cup race in the coming days.
Finally, the PLYC apparel store is open. Several new items have been added. It’s worth checking out.
Be safe,
Rob
Spirit Rider Registration
The SR Regatta will be a staggered start race with start times assigned in advance. Please register ASAP to be sure your start time is assigned with adequate lead time. Be sure to include an email address and cell phone that are accessible within an hour of start time to receive last minute changes if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation.
Kat as organized a PLYC captains’ meeting for Friday night. She will follow-up with details about the meeting and the start time of the meeting. Attendance is not required to race.
The PLYC fleet will leave the dock on Saturday morning shortly after low tide and meet at the course in from of the Ocean Club. The initial start time will be 1:00 PM. All normal racing rules apply including jumping the gun and touching a mark.
Depending on wind conditions, the start/finish with a single committee boat will be setup opposite the club. Our standard covid ball marks will be placed in a triangle format with coordinates made available shortly before the start.
Thank you for your participation, and good luck.

Thank you for having fun!
Kayak Race Day
Kayak races will start around 12:30, at which time we will establish teams and orders of competition. Feel free to invite your family and friends, all are welcome. Note, sport-type floatation devices are in limited supply, so if you have one please bring it. For safety, the course will be entirely within the marina.
Dependent upon the turnout, we plan to have teams of two, competing against each other in an elimination process until we get down to two finalists, and finally the grand prize winner. There will be one grand prize awarded to the winning team. The Grand Prize will be awarded today, and trophies for the event will be awarded at our annual awards party, the date to be determined. Sailboat racing rules apply, no touching the marks, the penalty is another trip around the mark. After that NASCAR rules apply (rubbing is racing). Other (nonsexual) distractions are also acceptable?
We ask that you make a small donation to our Toy Lending Center fund drive.
The races will be proceeded by a general membership meeting around 11:30. The agenda is short. We will discuss our fund raising progress, plans for the Spirit Rider event on the 12th and the Commodore Cup competition later in the month. Dates for these events are available on the club calendar under event schedule. You must be logged in to view it.
Good luck to all. See you later this morning.

Your Chariots Await
4 identical boats with identical PHRF’s! However, I have only seen three registrations. It’s going to be a quiet day at this rate. Please join us. We can play for an hour or so while the tide comes in. Then, we can all go out for sail. Remember, everyone is welcome. Pass the word.
Sunday, around 12:20 PM at the East Marina.
You are doing great work!
Fall Fashions are in!
The PLYC apparel store is open. Most of the items have been updated to include the color grey in their selection. Follow the link to the store below.
Note: The only personalization available is a name on the sleeve. My suggestion would be to keep the selections to your boat name, the name of the boat you usually crew for, or your own name.
