Happy December Dearest Point Lookout Yacht Club Family,
As the sun sets and it get’s dark way too early each day, with the quiet loneliness at the marina with all the empty slips, without a mast in sight.  As we wait for the temperature that will start to bring us snow instead of rain.

I wanted to first wish you and your families the Happiest Healthiest and Safe Holiday Season!
With all the uncertainty at the beginning of the summer season, we managed to have yet another wonderful summer season with great flotillas and fun races. Mother nature was little mean forcing us to cancel a couple of races.  It only means we must make up for them next year and have even more fun with more races!

You will be receiving an evite shortly to the annual PLYC gathering held at the Buoy Bar.  December 10th, 2021 @ 7:00 pm. Save the date and share with friends and family.  The more the merrier!

Where we meet up again to “Jingle and Mingle”, raise our glasses and toast to holiday cheers!  Reflect, share pictures, and recount our favorite summer memories.

Sporting our most fashionable of Ugliest Sweaters!  Ugliest of them all will win a prize!

And to jazz it up this year, we ask that everyone bring a small fun, funny, thoughtful and/or boozy preferably nautical gift to share as a Secret Santa gift exchange.

Can’t wait to see everyone again very soon!

Luv,

Kat🥂🥂🥂

Ahoy PLYC!

After a wonderful Spirit Rider Regatta!  Congratulation the all of the PLYC Captains for taking it home with all the winners, especially to Edgar for finishing first.

It been exceptionally a sad time for PLYC with the loss of Jayne Feihel’s Mom and Paul Brys’s Dad Mark.  Our deepest sympathies to Jayne and her beautiful family.  Jayne’s Mom was an incredible person for raising  an amazingly beautiful Jayne that we love dearly.  Although not everyone got to know Mark, Paul is a a great addition to the PLYC family.    May they rest in peace and their spiri live on in the most cherished memories.

There had been a slight change for the upcoming Pink Race, the Commodore Cup and the end of season Award Party.

The Pink race will be held next weekend, Saturday, September 25.  The Annual Commodore Cup and the end of season Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday, October 2.  This year Kimball and CJ have again graciously welcomed us to their beautiful home  to host the end of season party after the PLYC Commodore Cup Regatta.  I would like thank Kimball and CJ in advance because it is such a special event with so much love when we finish of the season together with them.

Thank you everyone for your patience and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Good morning PLYC Captains and Sailors!

We had yet another successful and memorable Summer Solstice Raft up! The sun never peaked through the clouds but that never stopped us.  We had 6 boats, Outward Bound was our almighty anchor, Rosso di Sera, Vaquita, Secundo, Windancer and the Todaros snuck up in their little kitten version of LeGato!  As always everyone had too much food, plenty to drink and the most fun was all the boat hopping!

Sadly Extreme Healing, Waterfront Property and Dulcinea had some engine starting issues and stayed dockside. Hopefully we’ll make up for it next year.
Next up, we have scheduled is the Strawberry Full Moon Sunset Cruise. Perfect conditions, a sunny pleasant day of 75 degrees with high tide at 8:05 pm and sunset at 8:30 pm.  Great opportunity to get in a nice sail, watch the sunset, sail back with a gorgeous full moon and finish off Thirsty Thursdays with docktails.
Saturday, we have the fun and exciting Stars & Stripes Regatta followed by our beloved Point Lookout Fireworks that we enjoy watching from our decks.  Get your festive Red, White and Blue attire ready and fire up the BBQ’s!
Please raise your hands by replying or texting me directly if you’ll be joining for either the Strawberry Full Moon Cruise and/or the Stars & Stripes Regatta!
Next Weekend is the first Flotilla of the season to the Atlantic Highlands with 7 boats setting sail!!! Starting to cast off as off Thursday July 1 are; LeGato, Waterfront Property, Vaquita, Rosso Di Sera, Outward Bound, Windancer and guess who’s back? Perigee will also be joining too!
Finally, in the lead with balloon catching is Rosso Di Sera with a total of 41 balloons! Everyone is doing an incredible job fishing them out of our precious ocean!
I can’t tell you how much fun it is receiving all the fun balloon conquerer’s pictures.

But don’t hide the smiling faces! Just keep on sharing all the pictures.
The weather forecast look promising for both weekends with sunshine and 75-80 degrees.  Praying it stays that way… remember with all the fun times we are having to also stay safe!
Look forward to your check-ins! Happy Sailing!

Summer Sailstice Saturday

Hello PLYC.
Please join us out on the water on June 19th at 4:00 pm for our PLYC annual Raft Up by the coast guard station!

Sail Locally, Celebrate Globally” to connect with the whole world sailing in the 21st annual Summer Sailstice!
About Summer Sailstice
Founded in 2001, Summer Sailstice is the global sailing holiday celebrated on the weekend closest to the summer solstice. Founded on the basis that the non-sailing public doesn’t really understand sailing and most public awareness comes from events or tragedies that don’t accurately represent sailing (America’s Cup, Thurston Howell III, etc), Summer Sailstice was created to unite, celebrate and showcase life under sail, and be a lot of fun. Every year Summer Sailstice unites over 20,000 sailors across the oceans to celebrate and showcase life under sail.

Please bring at least 2-3 large fenders and lines to tie up.

Kindly confirm that you will be joining.

It a great event where we all do what we do best drink, eat, watch the sunset and make beautiful memories!

See ya soon!
