Ahoy PLYC!

Ready everyone for another great weekend!

Hope everyone has recovered from our PLYC very happy fun Dark and Stormy party last weekend with some great sunny sailing. We had old hats from way back when and a great pot luck. Huge thank you to Social Commodores for making it happen.

This weekend we have a full schedule starting off tonight, Friday night with our very first Captain Ron outdoor movie night at pergola. So bring your chairs, snacks and of course your beverages. Vice Commodore Paul will be setting up for a 9pm showing.

Saturday we have our Annual Krazy Kayak races. Who will take the title this year! Bono will be bringing the winning magnum of bubbles. Everyone be at the dock by 12:30 sharp.

Sunday we have the DRINKY Dinghy clam bake at the double dock AA beach. All licensed clammers and dinghy Captains be ready to leave the dock at 11:00am … PLYC time 😉😜

The membership meeting has been pushed to Saturday August 26, 2023 at 7 pm at the pergola. Thai years theme will be Greek dancing lesson from our very own Mende. We shall be also doing some Greek BBQ pot luck afterward. With a very special guest, we shall welcome Greek Captain Stavros of the Greece Fleet trip will be joining as well.

Weather permitting, let’s hope the shattered Thundershowers will skip Point Lookout as they usually do.

Friday night is Movie Night Under the Pergola featuring “Captain Ron.”  Movie starts at 9pm. BYOP (popcorn)
Saturday is the Krazy Kayak Race.  Launch time is 1pm. Kayakers should arrive by 12:30. Who will be the winner this year?

PLYC Toy Lending Fundraiser Success!

PLYC held another successful LI Toy Lending Center for Children with Disabilities fundraiser!!! 
The event netted $6,500. Not too shabby!!
The baskets were plentiful and beautiful! The super prizes were grand! The Grand Prize Atlantis Bahamas trip was a spectacular grand prize!!

There are so many different spokes in the wheel to getting this event up off the ground and running. Thank you to all who solicited and / or donated items for the baskets. Our basket making evening went smoothly, a few hands go a long way!!! Thank you basket-makers!!! It is always fun to see how random things make such beautiful baskets.
 
I want to thank everyone who came down to work the event. Some worked the morning to get setup, some worked the hours of the event, and a special shout out to those who stayed the whole time from setup to take down!!! The event would not have been successful without your hard work. 

So, a final THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! PLYC always comes through.

Ahoy Captains and Mates!

This Saturday is the Dark and Stormy Race! Look for racing details from our Race Commodore,  Bobby.
Afterwards, we are planning a Potluck Dinner under the Pergola.   Bring a dish to share, your own utensils, and your own drinks.  We will meet around 4ish.
Please wear your Dark and Stormy hat from previous years (the red one if possible) for a group photo op.  
John Bono will have shirts available for all who participate and all are enouraged to support our sponsor by purchasing a bottle of Goslings rum and a six pack of ginger beer for $35.00
Take lots of pics on your boats during the race with your crew in D&S attire.

A busy weekend. Our PLYC raft up was a success . The mother ship Outward Bound securely held Waterfront Property, Rosa di Sera , Salacia and Haleakala ( not shown). It was a fun evening

Hi All!
Here's what's happening this week:
As you know, we have rescheduled the LITLC fundraiser for this Saturday, from 12-5 @ The Buoy Bar. We need all hands on deck as many regular volunteers will be out of town! Please show up to lend a hand and more importantly support this very worthwhile event!
The annual raft-up has also been rescheduled to this Sunday. Low tide at Jones Inlet isn't until after midnight, so let's meet at 5pm at our regular spot near the Coast Guard Station. Outward Bound can be the center boat.  Please let us know you'll be there!
