Commodore Cup Regatta

Good Morning Members,

Next Sunday is the Commodore Cup Regatta. As a tradition the club provides food after the race. To insure we have enough, it is imperative that each captain register for this race by connecting to: https://pointlookoutyc.com/event-registration/
You do not need to be logged in to register. Let us know the total number of crew members attending. Please remember the nonmember guest fee is $5.

This is a “single winner” race the winner gets the name of their boat inscribed on the cup, which remains on display in the Buoy Bar for one year.

One more thing…

In anticipation of the Spirit Rider Regatta coming up in September, I need a little information about your boats, skippers, and crew. This is needed to provide a play-by-play to donators viewing the race from the Ocean Club. Several bullet points will work well.

Jolly Mon is a Catalina 30
The skipper is Jayne Feihel
Jayne has been sailing for 8 years and won numerous local club meets in addition to winning the ALIR twice. 🙂
Her crew is… has 30 years of experience. etc.

Please send your profiles directly to me.

Thank you. See you on Sunday

Sore Thumb

The RC & Crew plan on heading out Friday afternoon. According to Seatow Great South Bay, don’t follow your old breadcrumbs through FI Inlet. The newly dredged channel is close to the east side of inlet. Buoy 7 is near the entrance to sore Thumb. Stay close (near the rocks) to the west side of entrance to Sore Thumb so you don’t end up on the sand bar and head straight towards the Biggest House. Map attached courtesy of STGSB

Vaquita and Outward Bound will be heading to Sore Thumb this weekend (on Saturday instead of Friday due to work schedules).

Any other Skippers up for the trip? We plan to get an early start on Saturday.

Is anyone interested in entering this regatta representing PLYC?

Hi Rob:

Just wanted to let you know that our annual Liberty Cup Regatta is coming soon (Sept 14-15) and registration is now open on Yacht Scoring. We’d like to extend the invitation to teams/members from your club. We will have spin and non-spin divisions as well as OD starts provided there are a minimum of 5 boats.

Here is the link to the NOR and registration on Yacht Scoring:

Attached is a flyer that you are welcome to post on FB or around the club if you’re interested. As in the past seven years we expect to get boats from Raritan, Keyport and Atlantic Highlands Yacht club’s, as well as boats from LIS…

The first start Saturday afternoon is late enough for delivery from your club to come that day. Our marina can also have docks available at a reduced rate.

If you or any of your members are interested and/or have questions please feel free to contact me directly.

We hope you can join us.

Cheers,

David Spence

Neil Parker and crew of the Dolcezza finished first in their division and second over all with the second place boat finishing 6 hours behind.

Please take time today to greet them for the victory party at the Sea Cliff Yacht Club at 2:00PM. They would love see everyone join in their celebration.
The party is always a great afternoon of fun on the beach.

Congratulations!
